Trasa Pomerania
Chopin’s trip to Pomerania in the summer of 1827 still provokes lively discussions, as there are no primary source materials that would conclusively confirm that he stayed there. The composer mentions a planned trip to Gdańsk in a letter sent from Kowalewo in July 1827. If the trip came to fruition, then he had an opportunity of visiting this historical city in the company of Count Zboiński and might also have visited Johann Wilhelm Linde, brother of Samuel Bogumił Linde, rector of the Warsaw Lyceum. Unfortunately, no details have survived. We only know that Count Zboiński and his fellow travellers, Sierakowski and Dembowski, were registered at the ‘Pod Trzema Murzynami’ (Three Negroes) hotel in Gdańsk. Chopin was probably not registered because he was still a minor. There are also reasons to believe that Sierakowski invited his companions to his estate in Waplewo.
