Katarzyna Aszpergerowa

Katarzyna Aszpergerowa (1795–1835) was an actress and mezzo-soprano. She was associated with the National Theatre in Warsaw, where she performed in operas by e.g. Rossini (Tancredi, The Italian Girl in Algiers, Cinderella, The Thieving Magpie and The Barber of Seville). Aszpergerowa was particularly popular for her comic roles, with François A. Boieldieu’s Little Red Riding Hood being a special favourite.
