Eremitagen in Jægersborg
A late Baroque hunting lodge belonging to Danish kings (beginning with Christian V in 1690), who in the forests around Jægersborg, to the north of Copenhagen, founded Zoological Gardens (Dyrehave) and had hunting grounds there. Since 1849, the lodge has belonged to the state, as a cultural heritage site. A favourite place for trips, in the past and still today, it was recently reopened to the public in the summer months following major renovation work.
