Grieghallen
The Grieghallen was commissioned in 1978. Today, it is the biggest concert hall in Bergen, the seat of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra (until 1978, the orchestra of the "Harmonien" Music Society, dating from 1765; since 1996, one of the two Norwegian national orchestras). The music of Arne Nordheim was often performed at the Grieghallen, including in 1992, when Nordheim was the Bergen Festival’s featured composer.
