Orchester der Württembergischen Staatsoper
In 1973, the American dancer and choreographer Glen Tetley was made leader of the ballet troupe at the Stuttgart Opera. The following year, he staged his ballet Strender, to music by Arne Nordheim, at the Norwegian Opera in Oslo. Tetley and Nordheim later wrote together the ballet Greening, which was premiered at the Württemberg State Opera in Stuttgart. Nordheim did not compose new music for that work, but elaborated the score from two earlier works, Greening and Epitaffio. The only new music was the link between the two. (jc)
