Edinburgh

The presence of Witold Lutosławski’s music at the Edinburgh festival began with a presentation of the Trois poèmes d’Henri Michaux, which he conducted, standing in front of the choir, in 1972. Five years later, Bernard Haitink reminded the festival audience about Lutosławski, performing the then new work Mi-parti. Outside the festival season, Lutosławski visited the Scottish capital twice, during the nineties.
