Józef Patkowski
Józef Patkowski (1929–2005), a musicologist, physician, composer of film scores, founder of the Experimental Study of Polish Radio, which he directed until 1985. In this function, he met Nordheim and provided him with possibility to create electroacoustic music at a time when it was not possible in Norway. In 1974 he established the Electronic Music Studio of the Academy of Music in Kraków, which he managed until the year 2000. He was also active in the musical circles, holding the position of the president of the Polish Composers Association in the years 1979-1985, and later (1985-1996) becoming the Secretary General of Polish Musical Board at UNESCO. In the years 1989-1995 he was additionally the President of the Karol Szymanowski Musical Society.
