Zygmunt Krauze
Zygmunt Krauze (1938), a renowned Polish composer, pianist, organizer of musical events. In the years 1970 to 1981 he worked in the Repertoire Committee of the Warsaw Autumn Festival. He was instrumental in the reestablishment of the Polish Society for Contemporary Music in 1980 and for 20 years was its chairman. In 1982, on the invitation of Pierre Boulez, he became a musical advisor to IRCAM in Paris. In 1987 he was elected the chairman of the International Society for Contemporary Music, and from 1999 is its honorary member. In the years 2003-2006 he was the president of the Witold Lutosławski Society. Nordheim met him during their joint work in the committee assessing the works submitted for the Witold Lutosławski Composer Competition in 2004.
