Bohdan Mazurek
Bohdan Mazurek (1937–2014), sound engineer and composer, employed in the Experimental Studio of Polish Radio since 1962. Multi-instrumentalist and improviser. He produced music for, among others, Kotoński, Penderecki and Schaeffer. He began composing from 1966 and had in his portfolio over 30 own compositions and music he co-authored for several dozen films. In 1972 he took part in the Summer Course of New Music in Darmstadt. In the years 1974-1990 he lectured in the Composition Faculty and the Sound Engineering Faculty of the Academy of Music in Warsaw, from 1980 he also lectured at various universities in the US. Arne Nordheim worked with Mazurek on the tapes for the ballet The Tempest.
