Zubin Mehta

Zubin Mehta (1936 in Bombay), a conductor of global fame, distinguished with positions at symphonic orchestras in Vienna and Berlin in his early years. Mehta was also periodically the artistic director of orchestras in Montreal, Los Angeles, New York and Florence, as well as the director of the Israel Symphonic Orchestra in Tel Awiw. He often conducted the new year concerts in Vienna, as well as the unforgettable concert of the Three Tenors (Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras). In 1973 he performed Nordheim’s Epitaffio in Tel Awiw with the Israel Symphonic Orchestra and Greening with the orchestra of Los Angeles Philharmonic.
