Ferdynand Hoesick

Ferdynand Hoesick (1867–1941) was a writer, literary historian, musicographer and publisher. Hoesick secured his place in the history of Chopinology when he published a three-volume monograph on Chopin, entitled Chopin. Życie i droga twórcza [Chopin: His Life and Work], through his own bookshop in 1910–1911. Biographical details take pride of place in this and Hoesick’s other works. Hoesick collected a lot of historical documents, witness testimonies and stories.
