Antoni Brzezina
Antoni Brzezina (d. 1831) was a publisher. Brzezina owned a music shop in ul. Miodowa, Warsaw, a lithographic studio and an engraving workshop from 1822 and a printing shop from 1826. He began selling sheet music in 1822 and published 612 volumes in Warsaw over the next 10 years. In addition to scores by Polish and foreign composers, Brzezina published and/or sold books, music textbooks, lithographic engravings, maps, musical instruments, journal articles and the following journals: ‘Kurier dla Płci Pięknej czyli Dziennik literaturze kunsztom, nowościom i modom poświęcony’ [Journal of the Fair Sex, i.e. Journal Devoted to Literature, Art, News and Fashion], ‘Wanda’ (a poetry yearbook), ‘Lutnia’ [The Lute] and ‘Tygodnik muzyczny na piano-forte’ [Piano Music Weekly]. Brzezina published Chopin’s Rondo in C minor, Op. 1 and Ronda à la Mazur in F major Op. 5.
