Piotr Dziewanowski

Piotr Dziewanowski (1798–1836) attended the Warsaw Lyceum and boarded with Mikołaj Chopin from 1811. He was a paternal cousin of Juliusz Dziewanowski, the father of Dominik ‘Domuś’ Dziewanowski, a close friend of Chopin. Dziewanowski briefly enrolled at the Faculty of Law and Administration, Warsaw University, before taking up a position at the Administrative Department of the Masovian Voivodeship Commission without completing his studies. He inherited an estate at Kawęczyn with his siblings. Chopin was very fond of him and referred to him as ‘my beloved Pietruś’ in a letter to Tytus Woyciechowski in 1830.
