Alexandrine de Moriolles
Alexandrine de Moriolles (1801–1842) was the daughter of Count Alexandre de Moriolles and tutor to the son of Grand Duke Konstantin. She befriended the young Chopin (and is referred to as ‘Moriolka’ or ‘Mariolka’ in his letters). Their intimacy might even have been a sign of a stronger mutual affection. Chopin dedicated his Rondo à la Mazur in F major, Op. 5, to de Moriolles. She left Poland after the November Uprising but little is known about her after that. She was still in contact with Chopin in Paris around 1832-1835. She never married.
