Aleksander Chodkiewicz
Count Aleksander Chodkiewicz (1776–1838) was a Polish nationalist, scholar, writer and member of the Royal Warsaw Society of Friends of Learning. Chodkiewicz took part in the Kościuszko Uprising and the Napoleonic Campaign of 1812-1813. He inherited a palace in ul. Miodowa (Mortgage No. 484) from his mother, but had to sell it, along with the art collection he had assembled there, to settle his debts in 1824. Tytus Woyciechowski lived there temporarily and ‘Honoratka’, a famous Warsaw cafe, operated on the premises from 1830.
