Juliusz Wiktor Gomulicki
Juliusz Wiktor Gomulicki (1909–2006) was a writer, essayist and expert on Warsaw. Gomulicki took part in the Warsaw Uprising (1944) and was imprisoned in an Oflag. After the war, he edited ‘Nowe Książki’ [New Books], co-founded the Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Książek [Society for the Friends of Books], sat on the editorial committee of the Państwowe Wydawnictwo Naukowe [State Scholarly Publications] Great Universal Encyclopaedia and lectured in literature and textology at Warsaw University. The many books he had published include several studies of Norwid and on Warsaw cultural and literary life from the 18th to the early 20th centuries.
