Jakub Fontana
Jakub Fontana (1710–1773) was architect to the King and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Fontana was the son of the architect Józef Fontana and the family was of Italian descent. He was knighted in 1764. The façade of Holy Cross Church on Krakowskie Przedmieście and the reconstructed interiors of the Royal Palace (1750s) are among his many works.
