Maurycy Ernemann
Maurycy Ernemann (1800–1866) was a German-born pianist and composer. Ernemann studied under Ludwig Berger in Berlin and came to Warsaw in 1820, where he began giving piano lessons in the homes of the aristocracy. He was made a professor of piano at the Institute of Music and Declamation (Warsaw Conservatorium) in 1825 and moved to Wrocław after the outbreak of the November Uprising in 1830. Ernemann composed piano works and solo and choral songs.
