Charlotte de Rothschild

Charlotte de Rothschild (1825–1899) – born in Paris, daughter of James Mayer and Betty de Rothschild, from 1843 wife of her British-born cousin Nathaniel de Rothschild. A patroness of the arts, pupil of Fryderyk Chopin and friend of Thomas Tellefsen. Works were dedicated to the baroness by both Tellefsen and Chopin (Ballade in F minor and Waltz in C minor, Op. 64 No. 2).
