Emil Barateau
Emile Barateau (1792–1870) – poet. Compositions to his words were written by such composers as François Adrien Boieldieu, Emile Durand, Francesco Masini, Félicien David and Auguste Mathieu Panseron. Juliusz Słowacki, in a letter to his mother, mentions that Barateau was considered in Paris to be ‘an authority and the leading expert on poetry’.
