Thomas Dyke Acland
Sir Thomas Dyke Acland (1787–1871) – British peer and politician. Born in London and educated at Oxford, he was a member of parliament for Devon and North Devon. On one of his journeys, he met the father of Thomas Tellefsen, who in honour of his powerful and noble acquaintance gave his newly-born son the names Thomas Dyke Acland. Tellefsen met Sir Thomas in England in 1848 and received his official permission to use those names.
