Johan Christian Tellefsen
Johan Christian Tellefsen (1774–1857) – father of Thomas Tellefsen. From 1793, he studied theology in Copenhagen, at the same time playing piano and violin. In 1800, without completing his studies, he returned to his native Trondheim, where he first worked as a library assistant (from 1804) and was then successor to the late Johan Heinrich Berlin as organist of Trondheim Cathedral (from 1807 until his death). In 1808, as a man of good professional standing, he married the pianist Anna Cathrine Stibolt.
In 1825, Johan Christian advanced to the post of chief librarian of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Literature, only retiring from the post a year before his death, in 1856.
