William Alexander Hamilton

William Alexander Hamilton (1811–1863) – Marquis of Douglas and Clydesdale, and subsequently, as successor to his father, Alexander Hamilton, 11^th Duke of Hamilton and 8^th Duke of Brandon. In 1822, he married Princess Maria Amelia Badeńska, the adopted daughter of Napoleon Bonaparte, with whom he had three children: William Douglas-Hamilton (the future 12^th Duke of Hamilton), Charles George and Mary Victoria, the future Princess of Monaco.
