Nathaniel Rothschild
Nathaniel Rothschild (1812–1890) – scion of the British line of the Rothschild banking family, in 1850 he moved to France, where thanks to his uncle, James Mayer Rothschild, he achieved success also in the wine industry. With his wife, Charlotte Rothschild, whom he married in 1843, he had four children. The whole family, in accordance with the customs of those times, had musical interests and probably training as well; both Fryderyk Chopin and Thomas Tellefsen were among the artists linked to the Rothschild family in both a professional capacity and as friends.
