król Oskar I
Oscar I (1799–1859) – from 1844 king of Sweden and Norway as the heir to his father, Charles III John. Oscar I was born in France as Joseph François Oscar Bernadotte (before his father was adopted by the then king of Sweden and chosen as his successor). King Oscar’s liberal convictions informed many reforms in both countries, including equal rights for women and men with regard to the inheritance of estate and freedom of the press. Of his five children, two became kings of Sweden and Norway: Charles XV and Oscar II.
