George Augener

George Augener (1829–1915) – an English music publisher. From 1853, he worked in London, initially as an importer of editions of European music. From 1873 to 1937, Augener was the sole representative in England of the German publisher Peters. Grieg stayed in Augener’s home at 47 Clapham Common on his trips to London during the years 1888–1906. In 1962, Augener’s publishing firm was bought by Galliard Ltd. of Great Yarmouth.
