Peder Severin Krøyer

Peder Severin Krøyer (1851–1909) – a Danish artist, associated with the Skagensmalerne group of painters from Skagen. He painted outdoor scenes and portraits (seascapes, fishermen at work, holidaymakers relaxing by the sea). His work is characterised by the depiction of the play of light and a rich palette of colours. He painted a famous portrait of Edvard and Nina Grieg at the piano.
