Johan Ole Emil Horneman

Johan Ole Emil Horneman (1809–1870) – a Danish composer. His oeuvre includes many piano works for beginners. Robert Schumann, in the Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, expressed his appreciation of Horneman’s collection of 12 Kapricer for Pianoforte (Op. 1). Horneman also wrote many songs, now forgotten, including Den gang jeg drog af sted, to words by Peter Faber, which was highly popular during the times of the Danish-Prussian War (1848–1850).
