Ingebrigt Vik
Ingebrigt Vik (1867–1927) – one of the greatest Norwegian sculptors. He was first employed in his father’s furniture plant in Øystese, where he worked in wood. He trained as a sculptor in Copenhagen and Paris. His works are displayed in Øystese Museum and also in the National Gallery in Oslo. From 1912 to 1914, he produced fourteen sketches and designs for a sculpture of Edvard Grieg, which was ultimately made in bronze and unveiled in the municipal park of Bergen in 1917.
