Jens Wilhelm Hansen

Jens Wilhelm Hansen (1821–1904) – a Danish music publisher. In 1857, he founded a publishing firm in Copenhagen that was run until 1988 by his heirs. At first, he published educational materials and salon music, but with time he issued the works of the leading Danish composers (Niels Gade, Johan P. E. Hartman). Grieg published his compositions through Hansen until signing a contract with Peters (Hansen published the first edition of Den Bergtekne, Op. 32 for baritone and orchestra, among others).
