Martin Gropius
Martin Carl Philipp Gropius (1824–1880) – a German architect, a graduate of the Building Academy in Berlin. From 1856, he worked as an independent architect. He was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and Vienna, and also director of the Royal Academy of Arts and Crafts. He remained strongly influenced by the historicist current, with which he came into contact as a student. His designs include the Railway Headquarters in Bydgoszcz.
